Snorkeling at Alexander Springs

Nicky and I took the kids to Alexander Springs today to burn off some energy and celebrate the very nice warm day. Its been a few months since we have had warm weather and with 80+ degree weather we hit the springs.
Nicky taught the kids how to snorkel which they both caught on to extremely fast and they spent literally hours floating around in the water.

The water was crystal clear and the kids spent the day observing many different schools of fish and swimming over the "boil". The "boil" is a huge 180 foot deep hole that is the source of the spring. This is where the water comes out of the aquifer to feed the spring. It is so deep in this area the water is practically turquoise blue. It really is a beautiful site.
We finished up the day with a picnic of ham and chicken sandwiches, chips and dip and strawberry cake rolls.... and a small dose of sun kissed skin.
