Lake Mack Tree Conservation Program

The last thing Logan and the boys needed to do for cross over in to Scouts was a Conservation Program. With the help of the St. John's Water way , our Scout Troop and The Forestry Dept. ( and let's not forget the parents) the boys planted over 3000 trees in the area destroyed by the Thanksgiving tornado's 2 years ago in Lake Mack. Our Troop planted 450 trees total.


We started our camp out on Friday night with setting up our own tents and getting the Command Center ready . Our Troop was the leading team in this project so we headed everything at our camp.The boys had a great time in the mean time and we warned them in the morning was the work.
It was a long night though...We forgot the air mattress and had to just sleep in the sleeping bags on the ground in the tent. It was cold and the dogs barked until 130am when they shut up the stupid roosters started and crowed until dawn. Then the sand hill cranes and frogs started too. YIKES!






The following morning the boys had to make breakfast for us adults and they had to clean up camp.They made scrambled eggs, hash browns, and sausage. Logan did eggs and hash browns. Stephen did sausage and Ryan made some bacon and eggs with peppers and mushrooms. It was pretty good.
They all ate well cause they had plenty of trees to plant.
